  1. Spring training is coming up soon and the Tigers so far are a team of prospects or players with very little experience. Granted they have picked up a few veteran players in the offseason they still are lacking the offensive firepower needed to win.
I keep on hearing they have a good shot at winning the division so do the other 3 teams which shouldn’t be the ultimate goal. Winning it all should be the main goal. Winning produces winners.

    • Well respected national prognosticators are picking the Tigers to finish in 2nd or 3rd place behind the Twins and possibly the Gaurdians with the Royals nipping at their heels with a win range between 72 games and as many as 78.

  2. Will 2024 see the Tigers find the new face off the organization? One publication said it will be Riley Greene. I think it’s wide open, between Greene, Tork, Carp or any of our starting pitchers. Honestly, I’m not sure which one, if any of them, will emerge as “The Face”. None of them have played well enough or shown the charisma it takes. Max Clark has said he wants to be the man, and I’m thinking he just might be.

  3. Anxiously waiting for spring training to start. I wonder how much influence Mark Canha will have on the young Tigers? I think his world series or bust is a bit far-fetched.

  4. As we approach spring training I am excited about the depth of starting pitching we appear to possess and will be interested if Mize and Flaherty show signs of contributing. Is anyone besides me concerned about our infield defense? Is there really much room for improvement from Work-Keith-Baez-Vierling? Still waiting for Harris to show he can make a good trade. Extending Hinch was a huge win for the front office.  It cracks me up how the writers selectively cite stats for their puff piece assessments (e.g, emphasizing how well Ibanez finished his ’23 season while discounting the same time period for Carpenter when his production fell off a cliff).

  5. Three reasons the Tigers will be improved in 2024; One, the starting rotation of Skubal, Mize, Manning, Maeda and Flaherty Is an improvement over last year‘s rotation of Rodriguez, Lorenzen, Boyd, Manning and Turnbull. Two, in 2023 the Tigers only had three proven every day positional players Javier Baez, Spencer, Torkelson and Riley Greene. In 2024, the Tigers go into the season with seven bona fide every day starters Rogers, Torkelson, Baez, Cahna, Meadows, Carpenter and Greene at DH. Three, the Tigers have a realistic ROY candidate Colt Keith at 2nd base and Matt Vierling is a demonstrative upgrade both of Lee and defensively at third base from Maton and Schoop. The Tigers will win the AL Central in 2024.

    • Love your optimism but I have big questions about Mize and Flaherty. Still dumbfounded that the latter got a huge payday. But then again so did our backup catcher. In Scott we trust (though I would rather have Holly calling the shots).

    • Every year we hear the starting pitching is better than last year’s. And every year it comes down to whether they can stay healthy enough to show their talent. I suspect this year will be no different in that regard

  6. Are the new pitchers fly ball/K pitchers? Outfield defense should be good…infield not so much. Why are so few “experts” predicting any contributions from Justice Bigbie? His numbers say otherwise. I’m in the minority, but I believe that we’ll see a solid season from Javier Baez…especially if the fans show some positive support. He’s an emotional player that thrives on crowd energy.

  7. Trevor Bauer need to be given a chance at redemption. Fits the Tigers perfectly as a pitching analytics type of player. Scott Harris said they would x take calculated risks, thoughts?

    • Iregardless of Bauer’s talent as a pitcher he definitely does not fit the player profile Scott Harris is looking for when it comes to unselfish team-first contributors. If E-Rod and Red Bull were deemed as problematic and selfish……Bauer is in a league of his own

  8. Like Holly said there are another sports event today, two of my favorites. The Puppy Bowl and The Great American Rescue Bowl formerly known as The Kitten Bowl. Then starting tomorrow it’s all Tigers all the time.

    • He’s healthy and will compete for a role on the team. I personally think he will have value in the bullpen this season whether he breaks camp in Detroit or Toledo.
