The Tigers may have been flirting with second place in the AL Central, but they remain under .500. After a horrendous April, they have come back in May to play winning baseball.
Do you think that the Tigers will eventually reach .500 this season and remain there for at least 5 days (in total) this season?

We show flashes of hope, but I don’t think we have the hitting nor starting pitching to support sustainable .500 baseball. I also expect E-Rod will be traded for prospects, which would weaken the roster for the remaining portion of the season.

The Tigers will finish around 10 games under .500.

Only if they put Cabrera on the 60 day IL and demote Wentz to Triple A sooner than later. With these two its a waiting for disaster.

Since starting 2-9, the Tigers have gone 21-17 (.553). If the Tigers play .553 ball over their remaining 113 games, they will finish 83-79. With Kerry Carpenter and Tarek Skubal returning soon, I anticipate the Tigers will continue to improve as the season progresses. and Hinch will guide Detroit to the A.L. Central title.

I think if they are buyers this summer they could hit .500 and compete for the division. But it is pretty clear that is not the plan and that we are in year whatever of rebuilding (ok, “assessing”).

I do think the Tigers will finish better than 500 this year, and they might even win the weak division. It would help if they didn’t play Miggy, and found someone else to replace Schoop. Also, Joey Wentz needs minor league experience

I don’t think they will. Starting Monday their schedule gets tough again and I expect them to fall back again. Shortly after that the trade deadline come into play and I expect them to move ERod and maybe a couple other players.

By guess is mid seventies win total. But this next stretch , mixed with this twelve game run we’re at the end of,is telling all.

History tends to repeat itself and even though they are playing well, they are just finishing what is probably the easiest part of their schedule.

.500 is attainable for a short run, but not for the entire year. Especially not after they trade Eduardo Rodriguez.

Agree – the question isn’t .500 for the season, it is for 5 days. I think we will continue to see variation swings up and down that will include sometime above .500, but ultimately will regress to the mean based on talent that will result in a sub .500 record which I would be ecstatic about…

Don’t see 500 happening as they have to play the AL East more games & are clearly over matched in that division. I think (maybe/hopefully) they end up with a few games of .500
